~Storybook Time - Donna Salazar Designs~

Hi All!!  It's Mandy :)  I have always been a huge fan of fairies and magical things and I am super lucky to have four daughters, because I get to scrap fluffy pages!!  Fluffy meaning girlie!!

For this layout I created a fun cloudy background that is super easy to do and it adds some really yummy texture to your projects.
 Materials
1) Cheesecloth or gauze (cheesecloth is usually much cheaper to buy)
2) Mix'd Media Inx Reinker - Jasmine
3) Fairy Dusty Glitter - Mixed Berries
Take your cheesecloth and play with it by pulling it here and there so you have some lose ends.  This way it doesn't look too perfect and the edges aren't blunt.  Use a bit of your favorite adhesive to help hold the cloth in place so you can paint on it.
Now take your Jasmine Reinker and squirt some out onto your cloth and use a paint brush or finger to smudge it around.
Now sprinkle your cloth with Fairy Dust Glitter and it will stick to the gooey spots.  You're all done :)
Here are some more close ups of my "Dream a Little Dream" page!!

Thanks for stopping by!! Below is a list of the materials that I used for this layout!!

~Scraps of Darkness May Kit Reveal~

This months beautiful kit from Scraps of Darkness is called Summer Breeze and it's another must have kit!!  This kit is filled with the gorgeous Prima Sun Kiss Collection as well as papers from Simple Stories and Little Yellow Bicycle.  This first layout that is based on the May sketch is of my daughter, Rylee.
Here is this month's beautiful sketch by Suepup!

This page has a photo I took of my daughter, Brooklyn, playing on our deck.  I actually snapped this shot with my iPhone.

Here is the other side of the kit, with the rustic colors.  So cool how versatile all the SOD kits really are.  I took this shot of my girls last fall.  The frame is made by Dusty Attic.
For the frame, I coated it in metallic alcohol ink in copper and then went over it with distress powder by Ranger.

This is a pic of me wearing another pair of my fave boots.  I have a few lol.
I created this banner by accident.  It ended up having a curve to it and in the long run I really liked how it turned out.  It's just a cluster of ribbon, cheesecloth, and other embellies.

Thanks for stopping by and God Bless!!

~Dusty Attic Rose Tutorial~

Hi All!! I wanted to post a quick tutorial on a cool way to dress up your Dusty Attic chippies and give them even more detail!!  I chose a couple of different rose chippies, but this will work on any chippie design.  I took this photo of my daughter, Rylee.  The majority of the items used on this page were from Scraps of Elegance  kits.
Here is a close up on the one I am doing the tutorial on.
 You will need:
1) Your favorite chippie.
2) Sparkle Mod Podge
3) Misting Spray
4) Craft Knife
5) Paint Brush
I found the easiest way for me was to run my chippie through my Xyron sticker maker, but you can use your favorite adhesive to glue down your chippie.
Take your craft knife and cut around and inside the chippie, leaving just a smidge of paper still showing along the edges.  The next pic shows how I cut mine out.
 Now spray your chippie.
Next saturate your chippie heavily with the Mod Podge.  Make sure you move it to a safe area to dry, so that it doesn't adhere to anything.  I tilted mine up onto something to dry.

The cloud effect was made using cheesecloth and adding the same Sparkle Mod Podge to parts of it
The wings are rub ons.  I cut thin slits along her arms on each side and placed the rub on through the openings so the wings appeared behind her.
Thanks for stopping by and God Bless!!
